- Description
- On 12 June [1296, at Edinburgh], in the presence of the notary, and of the witnesses [Walter de Beauchamp, John Tregotz, John Merk, and Thomas of Bicknor], Robert de Muschamp attained the trust and goodwill of the king of England of his own accord, and expressly renounced alliances, contracts, agreements, and pacts made with the king of the French; and having touched and kissed the most holy gospels, performed fealty to his lord, the king of England; and in respect of his fealty, just performed, he drew up letters patent and affixed his seal.
