- Description
- Gilbert of Bara, called ‘de St Martin’, for his soul and the souls of the illustrious kings David, Malcolm and William, and of Earl Henry and Countess Ada, and of Alexander de St Martin, and Ela his daughter, has given and by this his charter established to May Priory, all that land of the moor of Bara (ELO) next to the hill called Whitelaw, towards the west, which fell to him when the aforesaid moor was divided between Lady Ela de St Martin and himself, by stated bounds, in free, pure and perpetual alms, quit and absolved from all service and secular exaction.
