- An agreement is formed between the lord Abbot and convent of Arbroath, on one side, and John son of Theobald and Robert his heir, on the other side, with the will and consent of the lord king Alexander, whereby John and Robert his heir have given to Arbroath Abbey in pure and free and perpetual alms, all right that they had or might have had in all the land and inheritance in Scotland (Scocia) that belonged to Humphrey of Berkeley, brother of the said John, with all just pertinents, for the souls of William, of good memory, the illustrious king of Scots, and of Humphrey of Berkeley. John and his heirs will hold the lands and inheritance from the aforesaid abbot and convent for an annual render of a pound of incense on the feast of the translation of St Thomas the Martyr, saving 12 marks on the two terminals, namely Pentecost and Martinmas, to the abbot and convent in perpetuity for the Mill of Conveth (KCD). John and his heirs will respond for all forinsec service of the lord king.
