- Description
- Adam, son of the late Henry called Gley and heir, burgess of Aberdeen, with the consent and assent of Ada his spouse and John his son and heir, and all his other men, has given, granted and by this his present charter established to the Friars Preachers of Aberdeen, four perches of land lying next to the ditch ‘Gothered’ which now is called ‘Madercroft’, with all its length and width, between the house of the said friars which is on the east side, and the road which leads towards the windmill of Aberdeen, which is on the west side, for a certain sum of money which the friars gave him beforehand in his great poverty and need and to acquit his debt to the king, rendering annually to Sir John Comyn called ‘the Red’ one pair of gilt spurs and one pound of cumin on the feast of St Michael the Archangel for all secular services, exactions, customs and demands.
