- William ‘de Mahle’ of Bassendean has given, granted and by his charter established to Coldstream Priory, 15 acres of land of which 11 acres lie in the field of Bassendean and 4 acres at Harlaw, and all the meadow towards ‘Strotherflat’ and one acre of meadow at ‘Hunpul’, and that toft and croft and two acres which Adam, pauper and clerk, held, and in addition, two acres of land which lie at ‘Heuedes’ which acres Robert de Mahle, his nepos, gave to the church of Bassendean, in pure and perpetual alms.
