Geoffrey de Malevin has given, granted and established by this his charter, to Dunfermline Abbey the church of Melville (MLO) in perpetual alms with all its pertinents, with the lands that he assigned on the dedication of the church, that is, the lands of ‘Potwell’, with Orchard Meadow or Orchard Bank, by stated bounds, with an acre and a half of land called ‘Cobrinetecrofft’ and the croft and residence of the same, and in Wadyngflat, three acres and in Parkley, two acres and in the valley called ‘Kyrkhalch’ three acres and a half next to the mill, and within the halls [aulas] of Melville two acres from the east and one acre near the cross, and three acres in Logton, one from the west and two lying above the ‘flat’ croft, with free entry and exit and free multure, and also common pasture … {incomplete}

This would appear to be a re-donation of _Dunf. Reg._, no. 158, with additional lands given to the monks, but the end of the charter and witness list are apparently not extant, which make it impossible to know on what anniversary of the dedication of the church this occurred. Geoffrey II de Maleville was fairly prominent in royal charters of the 1180s and 1190s.
