- Description
- Hugh Ridel, knight, lord of Cranstoun, announces that there was a dispute between himself and Newbattle Abbey over the bounds of his land of Cranstoun Riddel (MLO) and of Newbattle and ‘Gocelynton’ (MLO), whereby he has renounced his action and petition over the said lands, and has granted in perpetuity and quitclaimed to Newbattle Abbey any right he claimed in those lands, by stated bounds. Newbattle Abbey will pay Hugh £10 for the good of the peace, and Hugh obligates himself and his heirs to a penalty of £40 should they break the peace.
