Description
Eustace Brown, burgess of Berwick, in pure and perpetual alms, has given, granted and also established by the present charter, to the lord abbot and convent of Melrose and whomever their successors may be all that land lying within the villa of Berwick (BWK) in ‘Narrowgate’ above the Ness with all the buildings constructed in the same land and all the pertinents and everything else as it extends in length and between the land of the abbot of Jedburgh on the one part and the land of Lady Alice of the monks on the other which the late Marjory held from the monks and conveyed to him, and all right and claim in that land he has resigned and quitclaimed to the abbot and convent and their successors.
