Walter of Ryedale, son and heir of Patrick of Ryedale, at the petition of William, his son and heir, and Isabella, his wife, has granted and by this his charter established to Melrose Abbey the donation of Isabella of that oxgang of land which William, her father, persona of Hownam, bought from Geoffrey the cook in the territory of Whitton (ROX) for the work of Isabella and which she made to the monks and church of Melrose by the bounds in the charter of Isabella herself.
