- Thomas of Thirlestane has given and by this his charter established to Adam of Smardale for his homage and service a [piece of] land from the peatary of ‘Bucheflad’ going up as far as the path that lies beyond ‘Fausyd’ and as it goes down under ‘Clortysyd’ in the southern part of ‘Huterell’ (in Thirlestane, BWK), free and quit from all service, custom and exaction, rendering annually for all services, one pound of pepper, and making forinsec service as pertains to two oxgangs of land in the villa of Thirlestane. Moreover, he grants ‘rumfre’ after his grain and Richard de Egrope and […], his brother, with all easements of his land.
