- Description
- Adam son of Adam of Durham, out of the great need of himself, his wife and his children, has sold to Melrose Abbey all his land that he had in ‘Thodholesid’ and ‘Standestanerig’, which he held of Sir William of Rydale in West Lilliesleaf (ROX), located between the land of the monks called Clerk's Land and the land of William son of Alexander, for 20s. The said monks will hold and possess all the said land in perpetuity, with common easements, and shall be free and immune from all service, private or forinsec, and from all custom, exaction and demand.
