Robert of Lyne has granted and by this his charter established to Simon son of Robert of ‘Scrogges’ the land of ‘Scrogges’ (Lyne parish, PEB) for a half ploughgate of land by stated bounds by Hamildean (PEB), as in the charter of his father, David of Lyne. Simon will have easements of pasture and building on the land, for an annual render of 12d. on Martinmas. Simon and his men will come to David’s mill. His men will give multure, but Simon’s house will be quit. Simon’s men will come to the works on the mill. He grants this land freely, which his father lost during his life in the service of David of Lyne, Robert's father.
