Description
William Purves of 'Mospennoc' gave, granted and made firm by this his present charter in perpetuity to the monks of Melrose and their men along with their beasts as with their carriages free transit through the middle of his land of 'Mospennoc' (in Glenholm, PEB) for 20 shillings of sterling which he accepted from the monks for hands, with specified penalties for non-compliance.
