- Orabilis, daughter and heir of Sir Ness, has given, granted, and by this his present charter established, to St Andrews Priory, ‘Davach Icthar Hathyn’ (‘davoch of lower Ethie’, in Ethie parish, ANG?) by its right bounds, in perpetual alms. She also grants the canons common pasture for themselves and their men in all of ‘Hathin’ (Ethie?).

This charter belongs to a time well after Ness’s grant of Leuchars: at this point Orabilis appears to have already divorced Adam son of Duncan (I earl of Fife) and was not yet married to Earl Gillecrist of Mar, who nevertheless witnesses. The most likely time for this charter is just before her marriage to Earl Gillecrist. This charter was evidently written before her charter as countess of Mar (3/18/8), which seems to have dated to before Bishop Hugh’s confirmation of probably 1187 (2/10/101).
