- Description
- Richard de Morville, constable of the king of Scots, with the assent and good will of William de Morville, his son and heir, has given and by this his present charter established, in free, pure and perpetual alms, to Melrose Abbey, freedom and license to plow and sow the whole land of Blainslie (ROX) and the whole plain by stated bounds. He gave this freedom and license to them for the love of God and the salvation of the souls of David and Malcolm, kings of Scots, his lords, and for the soul of Earl Henry and for the salvation of William, king of Scots, his lord, and for the salvation of David his brother, and for the salvation of his soul and the soul of his wife, Avicia, and William, his son, and all his ancestors and successors.
