Everard the baker of Lauder has given, granted, and by this his charter established to the new works on Dryburgh Abbey for the welfare of his lords and of himself, one acre of cultivated arable land called ‘Alriches croftys’ (BWK) on the outside of that land, nearest the land of his lord Alan of Galloway towards the north, and one acre of meadow lying between the outside arable towards the south, in pure and perpetual alms.
