Stephen son of Stephen of Kinnerley, with the will and consent and counsel of his lord father and in his presence, has sold, granted and by this his charter established in perpetuity, to Gregory, bishop of Brechin, for the support of the bridge of Brechin, and to the upkeep of the chaplain celebrating there in perpetuity, for the deceased faithful in the church of Brechin or elsewhere, all his land of Drumsleed (KCD), free and quit from all exaction and custom except the forinsec of the lord king. He has handed over and resigned forever the charter of the lord king that his father had into the hands of the lord bishop, and he and his father have sworn in the hand of the lord bishop to observe the contents of this charter faithfully. And on the day that this charter was made, he received ‘pre manibus’ from the pact that was agreed between the lord bishop and himself, three marks.
