Description
Hugh of Kilmany has given, granted and by this his present charter established, Balmerino Abbey in pure and perpetual alms, six acres of arable land in Wester Kinnear (FIF), with a certain area for the construction of a building where the house used to be which Mertham son of Mertham held along with a croft, next to the ‘Brigflat’ on the west side, namely, three acres extending from the house until the other road, and three acres from the west side of the house, extending towards the marsh, with common pasture for 80 ewes, with their offspring of one year, and four oxen and fours cows and two horses, in pure and perpetual alms, with free entry and exit to pasture, and with all other pertinents and easements pertaining to the said land, both within the villa and outwith it, for an annual render to the Hospital of St John the Baptist of Jerusalem of 12d. for all exaction and demand.
