- Description
- Robert, hopper of Coldingham has given, granted, and made firm by this his present charter, by the will of Patrick his first-born son, to Stephen of Howden, then sacrist of the church of Coldingham, one acre of land in the territory of Coldingham called Stampard's Acre, in free and perpetual alms, for the maintenance of the chapel of St Æbbe on the mount; to the said sacrist and his successors to hold and to have of the lord in chief, quit, etc. in perpetuity; with 4 d. to be rendered annually to Coldingham Priory, half at the Nativity of John the Baptist and half at Martinmass, in return for all secular service, exaction, and demands.
