- Description
- Adam Fraser, for the souls of himself and Constance his wife, has given and granted, and established by this his present charter in pure and perpetual alms to Newbattle Abbey all the half of that ploughgate of land called ‘Southrig’ in the holding of South Hailes (ELO), which is divided into four places. He also gives and grants to the increase of that half ploughgate of land, all the half of that land which lies between the exit [of land] which the same monks have for 300 sheep by gift of Oliver his uncle until the pasture near ‘Dunpelder’, and the aforesaid pasture of ‘Southrig’.
