An agreement was made between the abbot and monks of Kelso and Roland of Greenlaw whereby the abbot and monks granted to Roland that he may have a private chapel within his enclosed court. Roland stipulated that the chapel would not harm the church of Greenlaw (BWK); all ecclesiastical rights shall be paid as much from the house of R[oland] as from his men and household to the church of Greenlaw. Roland shall find necessities for the chapel except a chaplain. The abbot and monks shall make their chaplain of Greenlaw serve three days a week in the chapel. Roland and his household shall come to the church of Greenlaw to hear services on the great feasts unless by chance they are infirm.
