- Description
- Henry of Mow has granted and by this his charter established to Kelso Abbey the church of Mow (ROX) with the toft and croft pertaining to the church itself, by stated bounds, in free and perpetual alms. Additionally, he granted to Kelso, the chaplin and the men of Kelso in the villa of Mow the common easements of pasture, wood, etc. and all the other facilities in the villa of Mow itself along with his men. Additionally, he granted to Kelso two oxgangs of land with the toft and croft and sufficient pasture with 400 sheep, 16 cows, two bulls and 12 pigs in the territory of Mow, in free and perpetual alms, and just as the charter of Eschina, his spouse, testifies that she gave this alm to them. He grants all this to them for the salvation of his lord, King William, and for the salvation of his soul and his spouse and all of their ancestors and successors. Witnessing and granting this herself is Eschina, his spouse.
