Description
Adam of Rule and Johanna Wishart, his wife, daughter and heir of the late Sir Henry of Halliburton, the knight, for the salvation of their souls and for the souls of their ancestors and successors, has given, granted and by this their present charter established to Kelso Abbey, four acres of land in the tenement of Mow (ROX) by stated marches which include 13 acres of land belonging to the monks, the land of John of Mow, son and heir of the late Alexander of Mow, to be had and held by the monks and their successors, in pure and perpetual alms with all its pertinents. In return, the monks received them and their heirs into their fraternity and promised to celebrate a mass for their souls.
