Scolastica, daughter of the late Merleswain of Ardross, ratifies that grant which she and her husband Richard made to Inchcolm Abbey of the right of patronage of the church of ‘Fithkil’ (Leslie, FIF), and swore, touching the Gospels, and moreover obligated herself, along with her husband, that none shall attempt to act against the grant. Wishing and granting for herself and her heirs that should anyone attempt to contravene, she gives licence to the bishop of Dunkeld to repel and excommunicate any such persons, on pain of 100 pounds’ penalty.
