Document 3/421/4 (Kel. Lib., no. 153)
- Description
- Anselm of Mow has given, granted and by this his charter established to Kelso Abbey, in free and perpetual alms, sufficient pasture for 700 sheep and 25 cows in the pasture of his land of Mow (ROX), with certain specified liberties and restrictions. To curtail any claim or trouble that the monks may encounter from his heirs or others relating to his alms, he granted to them free and satisfactory entrance and exit. Additionally, the monks quitclaimed to Anselm and his heirs the teinds of his mill, and he quitclaimed to Kelso their multure in perpetuity. He granted all of this to them, in free and perpetual alms, for the soul of King David and Earl Henry, and for the salvation of his soul and all of his ancestors and successors.
