Memorandum that it was ordained at Wigtown in the presence of H[enry], bishop of Whithorn, the abbot of Dundrennan, the abbot of Tongland, Sir Donald, son of ‘Cane’ (MacCain), Sir Martin the clerk, Thomas MacCulloch, Roland [Ascoloc] and other trustworthy men, that Thomas MacCulloch was delivering 320 cows into the hand of Roland Ascoloc from the testament of Sir Alan son of the earl (fitzCount), being watched until the following feast of the Assumption to complete the remainder of £100 which Brother Richard of Slikeburn paid on the part of the executors of Sir John de Balliol, that is, the remaining money shall be paid by the said cows, if that is sufficient to John of Teesdale. If not, the cows shall be restored to the executors of the said Sir Alan without delay, who shall receive them in the manner according to the ordination of the precepts and bailiff of the lady of Balliol.
