Description
William of Hatley, son and heir of Sir Robert of Hatley, and Matilda, Robert's wife, has given, granted, by this his present charter established to Kelso Abbey, by the assent and good will of Emma, his wife, in pure and perpetual alms, licence to construct and have a bridge on his land of Mellerstain (BWK) to transport their peats and their other goods, without impediment by him or his men.
