- Description
- An agreement is formed between Walter, persona of Sibbaldbie (DMF) and Gilbert, clerk of Hutton, in the controversy between the mother church of Sibbaldbie and the chapel of Hutton (Dryfesdale, DMF) next to the church, whereby Gilbert will hold the chapel all the days of his life of the church of Sibbaldbie and the persona there, paying each year to the church 3s. from his pension, that is, 18d. at Pentecost and 18d. at Martinmas. Provisions are put in place for the death of the clerk of Hutton, including burial at the church of Sibbaldbie. Gilbert, the clerk, swore in full synod at Peebles to observe this without malice. A chaplain was instituted in the chapel of Hutton and Gilbert further swore if he shall die or change his life, he will resign to the mother church of Sibbaldbie or the persona the said chapel of Hutton.
