Description
Walter Corbet has given, granted and by this present charter established to Kelso Abbey, the church of Makerstoun (ROX) with the toft and the land pertaining to it by the same marches in which the land was held on the day which this charter was produced, with the teinds and everything else justly pertaining to it and with the the land which he gave to the church as an endowment when it was being dedicated that lies near the River Tweed at Brocchedfforde'. Out of necessity, he exchanged part of this land, and he gave them the land called Great Rigsmeadow. He gave and granted the church and land in perpetual alms for the salvation of his soul and for the salvation of his ancestors and successors and for the salvation of his lord, King William, and his ancestors and successors.
