- An agreement was formed between Abbot A[dam] and the convent of Arbroath, on one side, and John Wischard, son of John Wischard, on the other, whereby the abbot and convent demitted at feuferme to John certain of their lands in the parish of Conveth (now Laurencekirk, KCD), namely the lands of the lordship of Conveth (KCD) and the land of ‘Halton’ (KCD) and the land called Scotston (KCD), by their right bounds, with their just pertinents and easements, as King William gave them to Humphrey of Berkeley, son of Theobald, for his homage and service, and established by his charter, for an annual render for all service of 8 marks, 4 at Pentecost and 4 at Martinmas, and responding for the forinsec service of the lord king and all secular demand pertaining to the lord king for the said lands.
