Document 4/32/72 (Lind. Cart., no. 50)
- Description
- William, bishop of Glasgow, Hugh, dean of Glasgow, and Robert, treasurer of Glasgow, recite a mandate of Pope Gregory [IX] appointing them papal judges-delegate in the case called between A[braham], predecessor of the bishop of Dunblane, and the abbot and convent of Lindores concerning the church of Muthill, argued before the prior of St Andrews and his fellow judges. By the authority of this mandate, they have examined the case and have pronounced the previous case pronounced by the bishop of St Andrews to be just; though they find that church of Dunblane had been injured by the bishop of St Andrews in the estimate of the payment of 10 marks. Therefore, they have pronounced settlement condemning the abbot and convent of Lindores to pay annually to the bishop of Dunblane the sum of 5 marks.
