Pope Gregory X writes to Hugh, bishop of Aberdeen, noting his election, when chancellor of that church, by the dean and chapter, which was presented to the pope by Masters Roger de Castello and Thomas de Bennam, clerks, their procurators. The pope thus establishes the said election and commands him to govern the see over which he has been placed. In the same manner to the dean and chapter of Aberdeen, the clergy and to the people of the diocese; and to the king of Scotland.
