Description
Pope Innocent IV commands the chapter of St Andrews to receive and pay obedience to Master Abel, archdeacon and papal chaplain, whom the pope has appointed to that see, the election of the dean of Dunkeld having been opposed by the proctor, the provost, and chapter of the céli De of St Mary’s, in the city of St Andrews, and by Master Abel, elect, then archdeacon of St Andrews, and cancelled by the pope on examination of precedents including the elections of Geoffrey, bishop of Dunkeld and David, bishop of St Andrews.
