Pope Honorius III commands the bishops of St Andrews and Brechin and [William], abbot of Scone, to dispense, at the request of the king of Scotland and certain prelates, with Thomas of Stirling, the king’s clerk, who is of good life and learning, so that he may hold a plurality of benefices. He wishes that, in the absence of Master James, his chaplain and penitentiary, papal legate, they shall dispense with this as they see expedient.
