Document 2/143/107 (Lind. Cart., no. 102)

Description
Pope Innocent IV, noting the supplication of Lindores Abbey requesting that no prejudice to the rights of the monastery should be created through their remission to Master Rolandin, papal chaplain, then rector of the church of Whissendine, diocese of Lincoln (Rutland), of 10 marks from the church of Whissendine, which pension had been granted to them by the bishop of Lincoln; the right of patronage of that church being in their hands. The pope indulges that by reason of this remission of the 10 marks to Rolandin, no prejudice shall come to the monastery on his resignation or death.
