Description
Pope Innocent IV writes to the crusaders of the kingdom of Scotland, noting that the king of Scotland has reminded him that at one time he was of the opinion that the redemptions of vows of crusaders, likewise offerings bequeathed or left in aid of the Holy Land, in Scotland, should be granted to those willing to cross the seas for that purpose; but inasmuch as he is said to have lately granted these to the king of England and his agents, the king of Scotland has humbly besought the pope to see his subjects’ interest. The pope therefore grants that if the said king had granted this, it shall in no way prejudice it.
