Document 2/137/14 (Laner. Cart., no. 300A)

Description
Pope Innocent III writes to the abbot of Newminster and the priors of Tynemouth and Lindisfarne, that the monks of Kelso have complained against the canons of Lanercost and certain others in the Carlisle diocese concerning injuries made to their church of Lazonby. He thus commands them to call them together and hear the case, and to establish what is canonical, without appeal, causing what is decreed to be observed firmly by ecclesiastical censure, restoring to its correct state whatever shall appear to have been rashly attempted after a legitimate appeal was made. If all of them cannot take part in carrying this out, let two of them do it.
