Description
Pope Innocent [III] commands the bishops, abbots, priors, archdeacons, deans and other ecclesiastical dignitaries of Scotland that those who invade the possessions of the brethren of Dryburgh Abbey, or unjustly withhold what has been resigned to them, or venture to promulgate sentences of excommunication or interdict on them in defiance of the indult of the apostolic see, or to wrest away teinds, are to be subject to sentences of excommunication if they are laymen, or if clerics, canons regular, or monks, they are to be suspended from their office and benefice, until they have made full satisfaction to the brethren.
