Document 2/137/74 (Glas. Reg., no. 106)

Description
Pope Innocent III writes to the bishops of St Andrews and Aberdeen and W[illiam], archdeacon of Lothian, stating that he wishes to remind and advise the king of Scotland to defend the church of Glasgow and other churches in his realm, to guard its liberties and restore power, so that offers and sacrifices may be made to God. On account of which, by apostolic script, he commands that they advise the king and induce him to do this. If all of them cannot be present, then two of them shall do it.
