- Description
- Maldoven, earl of Lennox, has given, granted, and established by this his present charter, to Maurice son of Galbraith and his heirs fathered with Catherine his spouse, daughter of Cospatrick, the whole ploughgate of land of ‘Cartonvenach’, in return for his homage and service; to hold in feu and heritage of him and his heirs; performing the 7th part of the service of a knight; and if it happens that the heirs of Maurice and Catherine die, so that none of them survives, the aforesaid land will remain with the closest heirs of the aforesaid Maurice. The earl and his heirs shall defend and warrant the said land to Maurice and his heirs.
