- Description
- Gilbert, earl of Strathearn, has given and granted, and established by his charter, to Inchaffray Priory, that if any of their men of the territory that he gave them in free alms is convicted in his court of theft or of other pleas pertaining to his court, the body of the condemned man is to remain there, to preserve the right of the earl’s court, but all his chattels will remain with the prior and canons; and if any of their men are made to pay a money fine, the money will remain with the canons.
