- Maldoven, earl of Lennox, gives notice that since he held back certain lands of Luss (DNB) without a judgement from Maldoven, late dean of Luss and his heirs, [which he had] by the gift of Alwin, earl of Lennox, his late father, by his charter, namely, three lower quarters of Luss, namely, Auchentullich (DNB) and Dumfin (DNB) and Inuerlauren (DNB), and the other quarter of Luss that is on the west side of Luss, that at length, having been led to penitence, the earl has voluntarily recognised the right of the said Maldoven and of Gillemuire his son and heir to the said lands; he has given and granted and by his charter established the said lands, by stated bounds, in feu and heritage, in perpetuity, with all pertinents, and the right of patronage of the church of Luss, with all pleas, prisons, escheats, forfeitures, merchets and all other easements and liberties, for an annual rent, in the common army of the lord king, of two cheeses from whichever house in the said land in which there is cheese, for all services, whether forinsec or intrinsec, and customs, exactions and demands, and making the royal common aids pertaining to two arachors in the earldom of Lennox.
