- Gilbert, earl of Strathearn, has given, granted, and established by his charter, to God and the church of St John the Apostle and Evangelist of the Isle of Masses in Fowlis and the brothers there the church of St Cathan of Aberuthven (PER), with all teinds, offerings, obventions, with the land, by its right bounds, which his father Ferteth and his mother Eithne gave to the same church as an endowment [in dotem], and with all just pertinents, with common pasture, and all other easements, in free, pure and perpetual alms, free from all secular service and servile action, in perpetuity.
