Description: Gilchrist, earl of Mar, to all his friends and worthy men; when there was a dispute between the king and B[rice], bishop of Moray, and himself, over the advowson of the church of Aberchirder (Marnoch, BNF), it was thus amicably agreed among them that each had given to Arbroath Abbey in perpetual alms the whole right that he had in the church of Aberchirder; he has therefore given and granted, to Arbroath Abbey, and by this his charter has established, whatever right that he had in that church, with all that rightly pertains to it, in free and perpetual alms.
