- Description
- Patrick, knight, son and heir of Sir Patrick earl of Dunbar and Cecilia daughter of John, for Kelso Abbey; has granted churches of Fogo (BWK), Hume (BWK) and Greenlaw (BWK), as contained in charters of Cospatric, Waltheof, Patrick (I) and his grandfather Patrick (II), earls of Dunbar. Similarly, all lands which Sir Patrick, late lord of Greenlaw, and his son Sir William, lord of Greenlaw, gave in same villa (Greenlaw, BWK), as contained in their charters, especially that land in Greenlaw which said abbot and convent hold by gift of said Sir William, son of Patrick, late lord of Greenlaw, which Liulf the head groom (Equicius) formerly held below church of Greenlaw, next to cemetery on south side of church, over which there was a dispute between himself (the grantor) and Kelso Abbey. Similarly, he grants shielings of Bothwell, as contained in charters of Cospatric and Patrick, earls of Dunbar, his predecessors.
