- Gilbert de Umfraville, earl of Angus, for Duncan, judex of king in Angus; has given for his homage and service whole land of 'Petmulin' (prob. Pitmuies, ANG), making suit at Gilbert's court, for a rent of one pound of pepper or 12d. at the fair of Dundee (ANG), at Stradighty (Mains, ANG), from whichever of baillies of same manor, saving forinsec service of king and aid pertaining to that land

- Gilbert recognised as earl of Angus in English royal rolls between 19 April and 22 June 1267 (_CDS_ I, nos. 2429, 2432, 2433). The earldom seems to have been held in custody by Simon de Montfort, earl of Leicester, after the death of Earl Gilbert de Umfraville I (_ca._ 1244). The earl of Angus died shortly before 13 Oct. 1307. Probable date by death of Duncan the judex.
