King David has given and granted in perpetual alms to St Mary's [Abbey] Newbattle, Newbattle and Moorfoot (MLO); also 'Ruchalech', and the land which Robert, the ironsmith, gave and granted; and one saltpan in 'Blankelande'; and pannage in the king's forest, and timber for building.
