David, king of Scots, has inspected two charters: 1) a charter of John of Menteith, lord of Arran and Knapdale, and 2) a charter of John of Maxwell, lord of the same (i.e., Maxwell), to Kilwinning abbey. [1. John of Menteith, lord of Arran and Knapdale, for the soul of his late wife Katherine, gives Kilwinning abbey the right of patrionage and advowson of the churches of St Brigit (Kilbride) and St Mary (Kilmory) of the island of Arran with chapels, in free alms, saving the rectors of these churches until they have died; 2. John of Maxwell, lord of the same, for his soul and that of his wife Christiana, gives Kilwinning abbey in pure and perpetual alms, the right of patronage and advowson of Liberton (MLO), with an acre of land next to the church, saving the right of Lord Robert of Glen, rector of that church, until his death.]
