Document 1/54/518 (RRS, vi, no. 370)

Description
David, king of Scots, to Robert son of Duncan of Atholl, noting that he accepts from certain evidence that due to the sale to Duncan his father made of the marriage of the king's relative Gilbert of Glencarnie, to which marriage the king had heard through Laurence Gillibrand knight he had no claim; that Robert is razing or causing to be razed the lands of Glencarnie (INV), which by right belong to the said relative of the king. Whereas Robert is firmly held to the king's faith and fealty, the king commands that he cease such destruction or make whosoever is doing it to cease. And the king's relative (Gilbert) and his men with their lands and possessions shall have the king's special peace and protection.
