Description
David, king of Scots, has given his beloved and faithful Gilbert of Glencarnie all the lands of the barony of Glencarnie [now Boat of Garten] in the earldom of Moray and the sheriffdom of Inverness, which Gilbert resigned by rod and staff; holding by Gilbert and his male heirs lawfully procreated of his body, and deficient any male heirs, by Duncan Fraser and Christiana his spouse and Gilbert's sister, and their male heirs; in feu and heritage as freely as Gilbert held it before his resignation, for service owed and wont.
